COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This state-of -the-art course covers the practical application of ultrasound in both obstetric and gynecologic patients. It is designed for the practicing physician or sonographer who wants to enhance their knowledge and skill in ultrasound throughout pregnancy and gynecology, with practical application in patient management. New advances in 1st trimester screening and evaluation will be presented.  The new requirements for the basic ultrasound evaluation in pregnancy, as well as indications for anatomic evaluation, or detailed assessment, will be discussed. 3D applications in both obstetrics and gynecology will be presented by recognized experts in the field. The gynecology portion emphasizes the use of ultrasound in the clinical management of patients, with surgical correlation. Finally, special attention to proper ultrasound coding and liability surrounding ultrasound will be presented. Small group discussions will be scheduled to allow personal interaction with the faculty. These sessions will allow participants to bring cases for discussion with fellow participants and the faculty.
